CBD Hemp Oil – What is CBD Hemp Oil?

The chemical compound called cannabinoids is produced from marijuana and hemp. These two are both types of Cannabis Sativa plant.

There are then two types of cannabinoids called CBD and THC.

Compared to THC, Cannabidiol (CBD) won’t get you high. Most CBD weed products are made from hemp and only have less than 0.3% THC or marijuana’s psychoactive part.

Our bodies actually produce cannabinoids called endocannabinoids and their own cannabinoid receptors, some of which are related to pain and inflammation.

Researchers once believed that the CBD in products attaches to these receptors. However, they now suspect this CBD molecule helps the body use endocannabinoids more efficiently.

CBD Meaning – The Truth Behind the Abbreviation

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It was discovered in 1940 and made up 40% of the cannabis plants’ extract.

But, it’s different from Cannabinol, which is also found in cannabis. Although closely-related, Cannabinol has a mild psychoactive effect and is a product of THC.

Additionally, it shouldn’t be confused with the CBD medical abbreviation for Common Bile Duct.

Is there a Difference Between CBD and THC?

Since the legalization of marijuana and other cannabis products, people are starting to explore their options. Let’s take a look at CBD vs. THC, the two main compounds present in Cannabis plants.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is usually derived from hemp. It’s sold in various forms like CBD pills, CBD tablets, and gels.

THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the compound in marijuana that makes you feel “high.” You can consume it by smoking marijuana but is also available in capsules, tinctures, and edibles.

Is CBD Oil Legal – Everything You Need to Know

A product can be considered a legal CBD oil as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC. As mentioned, THC is the compound found in marijuana that causes you to get “high.”

On the other hand, FDA CBD still hasn’t approved any other product (aside from Epidiolex) as there are little studies about the safety of CBD.

They may, however, update their regulations once enough scientific studies have been made.

CBD Oil Benefits – What Benefits You Get from Using CBD Oil

If you’ve been following CBD-related blogs, you’d have noticed some testimonials from users of Cannabidiol oil. Here, we’re going to discuss the benefits and, of course, the facts behind them.

Relieves pain

Pain relief is one of the most popular CBD benefits.

The endocannabinoid system in the human body regulates sleep, pain, appetite, and immune system response. This specialized system contains endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind with cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. And our chemical compound of interest, Cannabidiol (CBD), is one of the 113 cannabinoids found in Cannabis Sativa.

Research reveals that CBD is a reliable pain-reliever and anti-inflammatory agent. As a cannabinoid receptor agonist, CBD reduces pain-causing thresholds by adjusting neuronal activities. CBD can relieve chronic pain when dealing with non-nervous tissues

The oral spray Sativex was administered to multiple sclerosis patients, and the results were amazing. The study showed all the 47 patients treated with Sativex for a month were reported to improve more than the Placebo group. The Sativex-treated patients felt little or no pain and muscle spasms. They could walk easier than others.

Note: the food and drug administration has yet to approve Sativex. It is the first drug to be approved in the United States.

Serves as an antidepressant

As the single biggest contributor to disability worldwide, depression ranked sixth on the World Health Organization (WHO).

The current pharmaceutical drugs, such as Benzodiazepines that treat depression and anxiety patients, have several side effects like drowsiness, addiction, agitation, substance abuse, insomnia, sexual dysfunction, and headache.

Unlike these pharmaceutical drugs, Cannabis oil has little or no side effects because it’s a natural drug. Children with post-traumatic stress disorder and suffer from anxiety and insomnia have been administered CBD to treat.

The antidepressant qualities of CBD are connected to its ability to act on serotonin (5-HTR) receptors. These receptors regulate mood and human behavior.

Alleviates Cancer Symptoms

Cancer-related symptoms and chemotherapy-induced effects, such as nausea, pain management, and vomiting, can be treated with CBD oil. Like anxiety patients, cancer patients seek a better alternative that is natural and has no side effects and high health benefits – CBD to the rescue.

A study of 16 patients under chemotherapy discovered that a direct combination of THC and CBD products’ levels reduced chemotherapy-related symptoms.

Treats Acne Vulgaris

Up to 9% of the world population is affected by Acne Vulgaris. This medical condition is associated with clogged skin pores, blackheads, and whiteheads—Acne Vulgaris caused by sebaceous inflammation.

CBD oil is popularly for its anti-inflammatory properties and sebum-reduction abilities.

Lab experiments show that Canna oil prevents sebaceous glands from secreting sebum. CBD can halt pro-acne agents’ initiation, such as inflammatory cytokines, a form of signaling synthesized by our body immune system to promote inflammation.

Possesses Neuroprotective Attributes

Judging from the way CBD acts on the endocannabinoid system and other nervous signaling systems, scientists believe CBD may be beneficial to people with neurological disorders.

The CBD’s ability to act on the endocannabinoid system and other brain signaling systems may benefit those with neurological disorders. CBD oil has been useful in the treatment of neurological disorders, such as epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.

214 epilepsy patients were administered 0.9-2.3 g per pound CBD. That dosage lowered their seizures remarkably by a median of 36.5%. That’s huge! Also, several researchers discovered that CBD-infused drugs increase the quality of life and sleep of those with Parkinson’s disease.

Note: only a small percentage of the patients worsened during treatment with CBD oil. Not everyone responds positively to potent drugs, and CBD isn’t an exception.

Contributes to Heart Health

The cause of most heart diseases, such as stroke, metabolic syndrome, and heart attack, is high blood pressure. CBD lowers the blood pressure till its back to its normal pressure level.

Diabetic mice with a heart condition experienced a reduction in oxidative stress and prevention in heart damage when treated with CBD.

A study of 10 men administered each of 600 mg of CBD oil resulted in decreased blood pressure after they.

Additional Benefits

Apart from the aforementioned benefits, Canna oil is useful in many other ways. And scientists are still exploring its potentials. Below are the additional benefits of Cannabidiol;

Has antipsychotic attributes: by reducing psychotic symptoms, CBD is a potential treatment for schizophrenia patients.

Treats substance abuse: rats with morphine dependence and heroin-seeking behavior grew less dependent on morphine and heroin after exposing them to CBD. Scientists are speculating that CBD has the ability to modify brain circuits controlling addiction.

When an experiment was conducted on diabetic mice, diabetes in the mice was reduced by 56%.

Fight tumor cells: In an experiment conducted in test-tubes and animals, CBD demonstrated anti-tumor qualities. It prevented the growth of cancerous cells in animals regardless of the organ infected.

CBD Oil Effects – Positive and Negative Effects

Proponents of CBD oil claim that it can treat various health issues, ranging from everyday ailments to chronic medical conditions. These issues include:

  • Acne
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic pain
  • Depression
  • Epilepsy
  • Glaucoma
  • Insomnia
  • Loss of appetite and body weight
  • Muscle spasms
  • Parkinson’s disease

It’s also said that CBD oil can promote sounder sleep, reduce inflammation and pain, fight oxidative stress, improve heart health, support weight loss, and protect against some forms of cancer.

Although CBD oil is used for many different health-related purposes, there isn’t much research on the oil’s potential health benefits. However, there’s significant support for CBD oil’s effectiveness in the treatment of some forms of epilepsy.

In fact, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Epidiolex (a drug made with a purified form of CBD oil) in June 2018 to treat seizures associated with two rare and severe forms of epilepsy in patients 2 years of age and older.3 These two epilepsy forms are known as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. Epidiolex is the first FDA-approved drug that contains a purified drug substance derived from marijuana.

Here’s a look at findings from recent studies on several other possible benefits of CBD oil:

CBD shows promise in the treatment of anxiety disorders, according to a report published in the journal Neurotherapeutics in 2015. Looking at results from experimental research, clinical trials, and epidemiological studies, the report’s authors found evidence that CBD may help treat generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.4 However, the authors caution that human-based research on CBD and anxiety is fairly limited at this point.

CBD oil may be of some benefit to those with addiction, suggests a review published in the journal Substance Abuse in 2015.5 In their analysis of 14 previously published studies, scientists determined that CBD may have therapeutic effects in people with opioid, cocaine, and/or psychostimulant addiction. They also found that CBD may be beneficial in the treatment of cannabis and tobacco addiction. There is some evidence that CBD may block or reduce the effects of THC on the mind.

Heart Health

In a small study published in the journal JCI Insight in 2017, researchers observed that CBD might help prevent stress-related blood pressure changes.6 For the study, nine healthy male volunteers, took a single dose of either CBD or placebo. Compared to those given the placebo, those treated with CBD had lower blood pressure before and after experiencing a stressful event.

Side Effects

Here are some effects of CBD based on some research:

  • Anxiety
  • Changes in appetite
  • Changes in mood
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness
  • Drowsiness
  • Dry mouth
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

There’s also some concern that the use of CBD oil may lead to increased levels of liver enzymes (a marker of liver damage or inflammation).

Safety Concerns

CBD oil may interact with several medications, including some types of anti-epileptic drugs.

A report from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) published in the journal Pediatrics cautions pregnant women and nursing mothers to avoid marijuana use due to possible adverse developmental effects on their baby.8 In a study reviewed for the report, short-term exposure to CBD was found to increase the placental barrier’s permeability, potentially placing the fetus at risk from certain substances.

If you’re considering trying CBD oil, it’s important to discuss potential side effects and adverse reactions with your physician. For instance, in one study, children with refractory epilepsy treated with CBD experienced an aggravation of seizures, sleepiness, digestive disturbances, and irritability. Source

CBD Oil for Anxiety – Does it Help You Relax?

Many anxiety sufferers use hemp oil, CBD oil, and other similar supplements to sleep better and deal with the constant stream of worry-filled thoughts associated with this emotional problem.

One case report published by The Permanente Journal in 2016 revealed that cannabidiol might be a safe treatment for the anxiety and insomnia associated with post-traumatic stress disorder.

But that’s not all. A 2013 study conducted on mice revealed that CBD’s repeated administration could trigger hippocampal neurogenesis (the regeneration of neurons in the hippocampus).

For those who don’t know, the hippocampus is a brain region responsible for cognition and memory. In the case of depression or anxiety sufferers, this brain area tends to be smaller, explaining some of the irrational thinking patterns specific to these conditions.

So, it seems like CBD for anxiety is promising. Cannabidiol isn’t just a placebo but a compound that can directly impact the functioning of various brain areas and neurotransmitter receptors.

What The Research Says

As a rational and decently cautious person, you may be wondering what researchers have to say about CBD medical benefits.

Not only that cannabidiol can lower anxiety, but it also helps reduce the symptoms associated with a wide range of psychological conditions and brain disorders.

The studies I mentioned above indicate, CBD may prove to be an effective treatment for:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Social anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Stress

Neurochemistry and CBD

Did you know that the human body has a built-in system designed explicitly for processing cannabinoids?

It’s called ‘the endocannabinoid system,’ and it plays a major role in homeostasis – the body’s ability to maintain a healthy inner balance. This means CBD oil and other derived supplements can regulate sleep, appetite, mood, and, consequently, the level of anxiety we might be experiencing at a given moment.

But what’s truly fascinating is that this compound can have a real impact on the brain receptors involved in the body’s response to anxiety.

For example, cannabidiol works like SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) – a category of psychiatric drugs specifically designed for anxiety and depression. By bringing your serotonin to normal levels, CBD-based supplements can significantly reduce the symptoms of anxiety.

CBD Oil for Pain – Is it Suitable for Pain Management

According to the Institute of Medicine of The National Academies, 100 million Americans live with chronic pain. Along with drastically reducing the quality of life, chronic pain can increase healthcare costs and hurt productivity.

Common types of chronic pain include:

  • Cancer pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Headaches
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Low back pain
  • Migraines
  • Multiple sclerosis pain
  • Neuropathic pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Temporomandibular disorder (often referred to as “TMJ”)

Over-the-counter and prescription pain medications are often recommended in the treatment of chronic pain. Still, many people seek alternative forms of relief (such as herbs, nutritional supplements, and products like CBD oil).

Some of these people wish to avoid the side effects frequently associated with standard pain medication, while others have concerns about becoming dependent on such medications. In fact, some proponents suggest that CBD oil could provide a solution to opioid addiction as concerns over opioid overdoses continue to escalate.

Potential CBD Oil Uses

Scientists are still trying to determine how CBD oil might alleviate pain. However, there’s some evidence that cannabidiol may affect the body’s endocannabinoid system (a complex system of cell-to-cell communication). Along with contributing to brain functions like memory and mood, the endocannabinoid system influences how we experience pain.

So far, much of the evidence of the effects of CBD on pain management comes from animal-based research. When taken orally, CBD has poor bioavailability. Topical CBD application to localized areas of pain is said to provide more consistent CBD levels with less systemic involvement.

This research includes a study published in the journal Pain in 2017, in which scientists observed that treatment with topical CBD helped thwart the development of joint pain in rats with osteoarthritis.

Another study, published in the European Journal of Pain in 2016, found that topical CBD gel significantly reduced joint swelling and pain and inflammation measures in rats with arthritis.

In a report published in Pediatric Dermatology in 2018, scientists reported three cases of topical CBD (applied as an oil, cream, and spray) use in children with a rare, blistering skin condition known as epidermolysis bullosa. Applied by their parents, all three people reported faster wound healing, fever blisters, and pain improvement. One person was able to wean off oral opioid analgesic pain medication completely. There were no adverse effects reported.

While very few clinical trials have explored the pain-relieving effects of CBD oil, a report published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews in 2018 examined the use of various cannabis-based medicines and found they might be of some benefit in the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain. A type of pain triggered by damage to the somatosensory system (i.e., the system responsible for processing sensory stimuli), neuropathic pain often occurs in people with diabetes and multiple sclerosis conditions.

In this report, researchers reviewed 16 previously published studies testing the use of various cannabis-based medicines to treat chronic neuropathic pain and found some evidence that cannabis-based medicines may help with pain relief and reduce pain intensity, sleep difficulties, and psychological distress. Side effects included sleepiness, dizziness, mental confusion. The authors concluded that the potential harm of such medicines might outweigh their possible benefits. However, it should be noted that the studies used a variety of cannabis-based medicines (e.g., inhaled cannabis and sprays and oral tablets containing THC and/or CBD from plant sources or made synthetically), some of which are more likely to result in these side effects than products without THC.

CBD Oil Epilepsy – Can it Help with Epilepsy?

Studies in the U.S. of Epidiolex (a plant-based CBD formulation) have been ongoing for several years. Data from these studies have helped provide evidence that led to this product’s FDA approval on June 25, 2018.

Epidiolex is a purified (> 98% oil-based) CBD extract from the cannabis plant. It is produced by Greenwich Biosciences (the U.S. based company of GW Pharmaceuticals) to give known and consistent amounts in each dose.

Researchers studied this medicine in controlled clinical trials. These studies used a control group with some people taking a placebo while others were given CBD at different doses. Researchers did not know who was getting the placebo and who was getting CBD. These types of studies are called “gold standard” studies.

A summary of the CBD research is found below:

  • In controlled and uncontrolled trials in people with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) and Dravet syndrome, 689 people were treated with Epidiolex (CBD), including 533 people treated for more than 6 months and 391 people treated for more than 1 year.
  • In an expanded access program and other compassionate use programs, 161 people with Dravet syndrome and LGS were treated with Epidiolex, including 109 people treated for more than 6 months.
  • All study participants were taking other seizure medications.
  • In controlled trials, the rate of stopping the medicine due to any side effect was low and happened most in people taking the higher dose of Epidiolex.
  • The most frequent cause of stopping treatment with Epidiolex was a change in liver function.
  • Sleepiness, sedation, and lethargy led to stopping Epidiolex in 3% of people taking a higher dose.
  • The most common side effects were sleepiness, decreased appetite, diarrhea, change in liver function, fatigue, malaise, asthenia (weakness or lack of energy), rash, insomnia, sleep disorder, poor quality sleep, and infections.

CBD Oil Side Effects – What Side Effects Can I Expect?

Numerous studies have shown that CBD is much safer than some popular OTC and prescription drugs, and it comes with only a few mild side effects.

Even the WHO stated in 2017 that cannabidiol is an effective and safe substance.

Nevertheless, although minor, CBD’s side effects are real — especially when taken with other medications. At Royal CBD, we feel obliged to discuss them to get a full understanding of what you’re ingesting.

Here are some possible adverse CBD side effects:

  1. Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is a common side effect of CBD oil; it’s actually typical of all cannabis products, whether derived from hemp or marijuana.

That’s because cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, including CBD, inhibits saliva production.

Luckily, you can easily deal with this side effect by consuming plenty of fluids before, during, and after taking CBD oil. This will also prevent any dehydration.

  1. Low Blood Pressure

Higher doses of CBD oil have been shown to cause a small drop in blood pressure.

This may be troublesome for people taking medication for high blood pressure (causing blood pressure to drop too low) or those diagnosed with low pressure.

CBD oil’s side effect is often linked to a feeling of lightheadedness, which makes many people feel uncomfortable. If you can relate to any of the above cases, it’s necessary to consult with your doctor before consuming CBD products.

  1. Dizziness

CBD affects everyone differently. Many factors come into play, such as gender, lifestyle, unique biochemistry, and CBD dosage.

At lower doses, CBD is stimulating, improves focus, and has an uplifting effect on mood.

Higher doses, on the other hand, can induce drowsiness.

Dosages of about 100 mg of CBD per session will begin to produce sedative effects. If this is how high levels of cannabidiol affect you, it’s important not to work on heavy machinery or drive a vehicle for this state’s duration.

  1. Diarrhea

This reaction is likely caused by the other ingredients in your CBD oil, as CBD has strong gastroprotective qualities.

When the cannabinoid indirectly stimulates the ECS in the digestive tract, it decreases the levels of gastric acid and improves blood flow in your stomach lining to speed up the regeneration processes.

However, CBD is usually contained in a carrier oil, most often in MCT oil.

The MCT oil can irritate the stomach lining and cause diarrhea when consumed in large amounts, so if you ingest way more CBD oil than an average user, you might want to switch to a different carrier, e.g., olive oil or emu oil.

  1. Negative Interactions With Other Medications

Your liver is “equipped” with the cytochrome P-450 system that is responsible for metabolizing drugs.

CBD can inhibit the system’s ability to process certain drugs, leading to higher levels of these substances in your body at one time.

Consequently, these CBD effects can sometimes lead to an overdose on those drugs. Source

CBD Vape – More Options to Choose From

A CBD vape pen is a pen-shaped vaporizer used for vaping CBD e-liquid. We’ve broken them down into two categories: refillable and disposable.

A refillable CBD vape pen is any vape pen that can be filled with CBD e-juice. It usually has a tank that attaches to a rechargeable stick battery. They provide a simple, convenient pen-style form factor and are generally smaller and lighter than the average mod and tank combo. Some are suitable for direct lung vaping, while others provide a tight mouth to lung draw.

Refillable pod vapes are another option in this category. Though they are designed for vaping nicotine, and not exactly pen-shaped, these mini vapes can be used to vape CBD as well since they are also discreet and easy to use.

Here are my top choices:

  1. PCKT One Plus

The PCKT One Plus is a perfect choice for CBD oil cartridges. It has a 660 mAh battery and three heat settings optimized for oil carts. The device has a robust and compact design that slips into your pocket with ease. The PCKT One Plus uses a magnetic gold adapter compatible with most pre-filled CBD oil cartridges.

  1. Mig Vapor Morpheus

The Morpheus is a mighty vape pen. Its tank can be filled with your favorite CBD vape juice. Rated for 100 watts, the Morpheus puts out more than enough power for delicious flavor and clouds and is better suited for medium-strength CBD liquids. The device charges via USB and has a long-lasting 3000 mAh battery.

  1. Kandypens Rubi

The RUBI isn’t your average vape pen. It’s ideal for high-strength CBD vape oils. The RUBI houses a 280 mAh rechargeable battery and comes with 1 mL refillable pods with flavorful ceramic coils. Kandypens has a strong reputation for its dependable vape pens and offers the RUBI with a lifetime warranty.

  1. Mig Vapor Bug

The MigVapor Bug is the vape pen for everyone. If you don’t want a big bulky setup, the Bug is made for you. It has a refillable 2 mL tank and a slim rechargeable 110 mAh battery. The device also comes with a magnetic topper to keep it mess-free and sanitary. The MigVapor Bug is available in a variety of colors.

  1. CBDfx VapeKit

CBDfx is best known for high-quality vape oils and additives. The CBDfx vape kit is extremely compact and durable. It comes with an industry-standard oil cartridge that can be filled with all of your favorite CBD oils. Featuring a 1000 mAh battery, it weighs only 2 ounces and charges using a micro USB cable.

On the other hand, disposable CBD vape pens are vapes that contain a battery, atomizer, and are pre-loaded with cannabidiol-containing e-juice. They generally resemble cigalikes, which are small cigarette-style vape pens. Disposable CBD products are designed to provide usually a few hundred puffs before they are depleted.

Disposable CBD vapes are another practical alternative to CBD cartridges and pods since they don’t require the investment of purchasing a battery or compatible pod system. They are typically draw-activated, which means it only produces vapor while you are puffing, and there are no buttons to figure out.

Take a look at these below:

  1. CBDfx Terpenes Vape Pen

CBDfx Terpenes Vape Pens are disposable vapes filled with 50 mg of full-spectrum cannabidiol and flavored with real terpenes. Terpenes are organic compounds found in plants that give each hemp strain its own unique flavor and character. CBDfx Terpenes Vape Pens come in four natural strain-specific varieties.

Does CBD Oil Get You High?

No, CBD oil won’t get you high. Though it comes from the same plant that produces marijuana, it doesn’t contain the chemical THC (found in marijuana) that’s responsible for getting you high.

As mentioned, the body makes its own cannabinoids (or endocannabinoids.) Experts suggest that CBD aids these chemicals so they can function more effectively. Source

CBD Oil Drug Test – Is there a Test?

There’s no such thing as a CBD drug test. So, it would be best if you always ended up negative.

But, some CBD oil with THC is also available in the market. THC is an active ingredient in marijuana, so if your product contains both of these compounds, you’ll surely end up positive.

It’s hard to tell what’s in a CBD product since the FDA doesn’t regulate most of them. As a result, THC contamination is more likely to happen.

So, you should first ask if the CBD you’re taking is marijuana or hemp-derived. It’s less likely to have THC if it’s derived from hemp.

But, aside from plant variety, refinement and harvesting techniques are also a factor. CBD extract can be classified under the following:

CBD isolate

This is pure CBD. It is CBD in its unadulterated form and doesn’t have additional compounds from the plant where it was extracted.

CBD isolates are hemp-derived, so they shouldn’t have THC.

They’re usually sold as a crystalline powder or sold as small “slabs” that can be broken apart to be eaten. In some cases, they’re also available as CBD tincture or as oil.

CBD broad-spectrum

Products with broad-spectrum CBD have additional plant compounds like other cannabinoids and terpenes.

But, in this case, all of the THC is removed. These CBD without THC products are usually sold as oil, but it’s also less-widely available.

CBD full-spectrum

This type contains all the compounds that come with the plant from where it was extracted. So, a CBD full form product may include flavonoids, terpenes, and other cannabinoids like THC.

CBD full-spectrum products usually come from marijuana species. Most CBD oil companies don’t disclose where the extracts are derived, so it’s difficult to say how much THC is present.

These products are widely available and can range from tinctures, oil, CBD edibles, CBD topical creams, and serums.

The bottom line:Being negative doesn’t mean there are no traces of THC or THC-COOH (one of its primary metabolites) in your system. It only means that it’s low enough to cause any alarm.

Buying CBD Oil – Guide to What to Look for in Your Supplier

Here is a step-by-step guide comprising five important things that you must consider when shopping for a CBD product online.

#1 Research About CBD oil Products and Understand What Will Work for Your Body

Before buying CBD oil, you should understand why you want to buy this product and for what you will use it in your body to get a clear knowledge about the purpose of purchasing CBD oil. You would need not to have any illness to use CBD oil in your diet regularly, but it would still be better to understand the benefits that CBD oil will have on your body before using it.

Most people who regularly use CBD oil buy this product to manage anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. It can also help in regulating your memory, concentration, cognition, and mobility. So, minimal dosage of CBD oil regularly will be enough to improve the quality of your life.

However, if you are suffering from any chronic medical condition, then you must consult a doctor and ask about using CBD oil for managing the symptoms of the condition before buying it online or anywhere else. Once you have a clear idea about using CBD oil for one particular problem, you will be able to go for the CBD oil intervention perfectly without any adverse effects.

When you browse for CBD oil products, you may find several brands supplying a wide range of products such as CBD oil, CBD tincture, CBD concentrate, CBD isolate, CBD gummies, CBD capsules, CBD vape oil, and CBD topical creams. All these products work for different reasons and in different ways; research well about all these products before buying it to understand which product will work best for your body condition. Once you try a certain product, you will understand what is working for your body and what is not working, and based on that; you can choose the right type of CBD product and save money on your future purchases.

#2 Check the CBD and THC levels in Each Product

Cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the two most prominent cannabinoids naturally present in the Cannabis plant that effectively manage symptoms of several chronic conditions in humans and animals. Both are rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant properties that reduce pain and inflammation in the body.

Even though both these cannabinoids work similarly to eliminate pain and inflammation, you must understand that CBD is a much better cannabinoid as it is non-psychoactive and non-toxic in nature. At the same time, THC is a psychoactive compound responsible for causing Euphoric highness or intoxication effects in people who use other Cannabis products such as marijuana or weed.

Therefore, it is always recommended to check the levels of both CBD at THC in each product to be sure of buying safe CBD oil that will not cause any side effects in your body. For best results, always choose products with a higher concentration of CBD and lower THC concentrations to help manage your symptoms without any problems.

Many products will only mention that it has these many milligrams of cannabinoids generally, which may not help you know the exact concentrations of CBD and THC. Refrain from buying these cannabinoid-rich products because they might have higher THC concentrations that can make you high when you use this product regularly.

Check that CBD concentration is more than 10 mg, and the levels of THC are below 0.3 % to ensure that the oil is safe for use. Before buying the right concentration of CBD, you must always consult a doctor to calculate the optimal dosage of CBD required for your body. This simple step will help you in buying safe and pure CBD oils online.

#3 Find out the origin, extraction method, and test results

Due to Cannabis products’ legalities, you must be careful in choosing the right CBD oil for your body because CBD oil can be extracted from marijuana or Cannabis and its related plant called hemp. Recently, Hemp plants have been legally approved for growing in the United States, while CBD oil extracted from marijuana is still under regulation. Therefore, you must be careful when buying CBD oil online because CBD oil extracted from marijuana which will definitely have higher levels of THC that can make you high and also cause other side effects.

Whenever you choose to buy CBD oil online, you must check the origin, extraction method, and the test results of each brand clearly and research thoroughly before investing in them. These three factors play a key role in determining the quality, purity, and concentration of CBD in each product and also will determine the efficacy in managing several symptoms in your body.

Hemp plants are cultivated extensively in two states of the United States. They completely follow state laws and cultivation rules to keep the plants free of psychoactive substances, especially THC, heavy metals, pesticides, fungicides, and other harmful chemicals. Go for brands that source their hemp from Oregon and Colorado farms as they clearly grow a hundred percent organic and non-GMO hemp plants for extracting CBD oil.

The CO2 extraction method is considered the safest method to extract CBD oil without using harmful solvents and chemicals. CO2 extraction is expensive, and many manufacturers will not follow this method. Instead, they may use the solvent extraction method or olive oil extraction to extract CBD oil, which increases the concentration of cannabinoids that might cause side effects in the body. Hence, choose only products that are extracted using the CO2 extraction method.

Manufacturers need to test their CBD products through third-party laboratories to ensure their safety and efficacy. When you check online, you can find many brands stating that their products are third-party lab tested and the test results are also published on their website to help the layman understand about CBD oil. You can also browse through the test results to check for CBD concentration, THC, and other cannabinoids and terpenes to know about their product’s safety and efficacy before buying it online.

#4 Compare Prices of Various Brands

The most common thing we do when we buy products online is to go for affordable products instead of investing in expensive stuff. But frankly speaking, CBD oil extraction is a tedious process and takes a lot of money to make good quality pure CBD oil. Therefore, you must never compromise on the money for buying good quality CBD oil online. Most brands meet the above-mentioned criteria and sell only 100% organic, CO2 extracted CBD oil, which is also lab tested. You can definitely buy these products without fear, even if it is priced at a higher price range than other brands.

Please don’t settle for less when it comes to CBD oil because you need the best quality CBD oil to gain maximum benefits in all biological systems and improve your life quality. If you invest in any cheaper CBD oil, kindly ensure the product’s efficacy before using it in your body because it can be potentially harmful and dangerous for your health.

#5 Don’t Fall for Cheap Marketing

Due to the increasing demand for CBD oil and the whooping profits estimated to be made by 2020 through the CBD industry, many vendors are trying to sell their CBD oil, claiming it to be the most effective product you can ever buy on the planet. Beware of such manufacturers because CBD oil is definitely an alternative treatment that can help manage certain medical conditions. It is definitely not a cure or a treatment to get rid of any medical condition.

CBD oil is beneficial for improving your body’s vital functions in the brain, central nervous system, and peripheral nervous system. Still, it does not cure any disease as of now. FDA has also approved CBD oil only as a health supplement and not as a cure, diagnosis, and treatment for any medical conditions. Source

Best CBD Oil – What Makes the Best CBD Oil the Best?

When it comes to CBD for sale, it’s recommended to go for full-spectrum CBDs rather than isolates.

Full-spectrum CBD oils have several original compounds and cannabinoids from the hemp plant. This helps boosts CBD’s therapeutic benefits, although this claim needs more research.

Full-spectrum CBD oils can contain the following:

  • Chlorophyll
  • Proteins
  • Fatty acids
  • Terpenes
  • Flavonoids

Below are some of the best CBD products based on CBD reviews:

  1. Veritas Farms Full Spectrum CBD Tincture

Description: organic CBD oil

Potency: 250 mg per 30 ml

Flavors: Unflavored, Citrus, Peppermint, Strawberry, Watermelon

  1. Zion Medicinals Organic Spagyric Full Spectrum Hemp Oil

Flavors: Unflavored

  1. Sisters of the Valley CBD Infused Oil

  1. Lazarus Naturals High Potency CBD Tincture

Note: The products above are full-spectrum CBDs. If one doesn’t work for you, you may have to try another potency.

On the other hand, the cbdMD CBD Vape Juice is a must-try if you’re into organic CBD oil vape. Check out the details of the product below:

  • Vegan and gluten-free
  • Three flavor options
  • 300mg, 750mg, and 1500mg concentrations
  • $0.06 to $0.10 per mg

With vape oils, low-cost does not necessarily equate to low-quality. In fact, the opposite is true for many brands. The CBD Vape Juice from cbdMD – our Best Value pick – is a prime example. This vape oil is available in three concentrations – 300mg, 750mg, and 1500mg – ranging in price from $0.06 to $0.10 per mg. However, the cbdMD CBD Vape Oil is formulated using a broad-spectrum extraction process that retains all vital properties from the hemp plant and ensures a calming vape experience.

The oil is available in vanilla, mint, and orange flavors. cbdMD CBD Vape Oil is also suitable for eco-conscious vapers since it is derived from organically-grown, non-GMO plants grown in the U.S. It is vegan and gluten-free, as well, making it suitable for vapers with these dietary restrictions.

Where to Buy CBD Oil – Where Can I Buy CBD Oil?

Physical retail stores are a good option when buying CBD oil. But, I suggest buying from an online shop to have more options.

However, please take Amazon out of the equation. Some sellers tend to market a product that looks like CBD and sell it as hemp oil.

Without mentioning, it contains little to zero CBD.

So, my advice is to shop at legit CBD shops online. They have many varieties like CBD pen, CBD oil capsules, and CBD tinctures for sale, so you’ll surely find something you can tolerate.

CBD Oil Online – Are there Legal Issues Buying it Online?

Technically, there are none.

But, CBD online and in the CBD store isn’t regulated by the government. So, there’s no assurance that what you’re getting is pure CBD oil or if it has any CBD at all.

With this, buying CBD from Amazon is possibly a good idea. I suggest buying only from legitimate CBD online stores to make sure what you’re getting is, in fact, the real thing.

How to Make CBD Oil – An Easy Guide

You can make CBD oil two ways: the oil method and the alcohol method.

The Oil Method

  1. With the use of a weed grinder, choose CBD bud by bud trimmer, leaves, and stems of a high-quality cannabis plant. The quality of the cannabis that will be used will dictate the quality of the oil that will be produced. Before doing this, however, the cannabis parts have to go through a process known as decarboxylation. To do this, you have to bake the buds and leaves at a temperature of 220 degrees Fahrenheit for about 90 to 100 minutes.
  2. In a mason jar, mix the ground weed with the carrier oil of choice. For this guide, we will make one with coconut oil. You have to saturate the weed with the oil. You can reduce the oil or add more depending on how potent you want the end product.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil. Place the lid of the mason jar and make sure to secure it in place. On the bottom of the pan, place a towel. Place the jar on the top and fill it with water until it reaches a temperature of at least 200 degrees. It will be good if you have a thermometer.
  4. Leave the pot for about three hours. From time to time, check the pot and see to it that the water has not evaporated. Please turn off the stove after three hours and let it sit for another three hours. Heat it again for three hours, turn off the heat, and leave it for the night.
  5. The next morning, your CBD oil is ready. Strain it using a cheesecloth, squeeze, and your oil is ready to be used as you desire.

The Alcohol Method

  1. Put the weed in a ceramic or glass bowl. Cover it with alcohol and stir for about 6 minutes. Use a wooden spoon to extract the resin.
  2. Place a straining bag or sieve to filter the solvent out of the container. Squeeze as much extract as possible. You can repeat the process if you think you can still extract more oil from the weed you are squeezing.
  3. In a double boiler, pour the oil that you have earlier extracted. Heat it until bubbles start to form. Wait until the alcohol evaporates but does not raise the temperature. Please wait until it simmers in about thirty minutes while making sure that the flame is low. Once the alcohol evaporates completely, mix it.
  4. Transfer the concentrated oil in a storage bottle. Be sure to keep the lid tight to avoid damaging its quality and effectiveness.

How to Use It

Here are some ways on how you can use CBD oil:

  • CBD Spray: This is one of the least preferred ways of consumption because of the low concentration of CBD oil. You can put the oil in a spray bottle. To use, spray one to three times on the mouth.
  • Vaping: The inhalation of CBD oil is one more thing that holds a lot of promise. Using a CBD oil vape will also provide you with the opportunity to adjust the dosage of the CBD that gets into your body.
  • Tinctures: It is known for its purity, which is why it is the most popular way of using CBD oil. All that you have to do is to apply a few drops of CBD oil under the tongue. This is popular as well for the quick absorption for optimal effects.

When talking about CBD drops, one of the most famous brands is cbdistillery. Their 2500 mg CBD oil drops have 83.33 mg CBD per mL, making it one of the most potent ones in the market.

  • Concentrates: If you want a high dosage of CBD extract to be absorbed by the body, this is the method that you should choose. It is believed to be stronger by as much as ten times than other forms of using CBD oil.
  • Ingestion: The taste of CBD oil can be foul for some people. While you can consume it straight, it can also be used in the form of a capsule that contains CBD oil. With this, you will be able to swallow it without the burden of an unwanted taste.

CBD Ultra is a popular brand when it comes to ingestible CBD products. This UK company sells anything from CBD supplement to CBD capsules to sweets.

  • CBD Cream: You can also use CBD oil in the form of topical applications. Creams with CBD oil can be used to treat various skin conditions and provide immediate pain relief. CBD balm is a great option to reduce the sticky feeling brought by oils.
  • Edibles: If you have ever been in a place where weed is legal, you will see many edibles, many of which use CBD oil as the main ingredient. From CBD chocolate to cookies to gummy bears, people have been creative in thinking of how to digest CBD oil.

CBD Oil for Dogs – Can it Help My Dog Also?

Yes. In fact, the Chief Veterinary Officer of the American Kennel Club (AKC) says it can be used for its anti-inflammatory, anti-anxiety, and possible anti-cancer benefits.

However, there are no supported studies on this. All we have are testimonies from dog owners that legal CBD can control seizures and treat neuropathic pain.

That’s why the AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) is funding a study to evaluate CBD’s effect on epileptic dogs. This will hopefully be the first scientific study to give evidence on CBD’s use on the said types of dogs.

CBD Oil UK – Legality

Yes, it is. CBD UK is legal as long as it only contains small traces of THC. It is in itself a legal cannabinoid and has been sold for years throughout the UK.

However, this doesn’t include CBDs claiming to have medicinal benefits. Since they also have small amounts of THC (which has psychoactive effects,) legalities are far more complex.

Meanwhile, medical CBD oil will be legalized starting November 1 in Scotland, Wales, and England to relieve childhood epilepsy symptoms.

CBD Oil USA – Legality

CBD oil is also legal in the USA. It is, in fact, commonly-used in most cosmetic products.

But, though it’s an active ingredient in a drug approved by the FDA, it’s illegal to add it to food and drinks. So, CBD wellness products are technically still illegal unless prescribed by a doctor.

The Top Strains with High CBD You Should Check Out

While it’s often tempting to wash out all the background noise with a few tokes, I sometimes don’t always want that “high” feeling.

When it comes to medicating mental health disorders like anxiety and depression, maintaining lucidity can be essential. That’s where CBD comes into play.

THC is the psychedelic component in cannabis that gets you stoned, but CBD is the non-psychedelic component considered a miracle worker by many medical professionals.

This type of strain is useful for those who want to maintain control, are struggling with addiction issues, or are of an age bracket too young or old to partake in the plant’s recreational aspect.

Here are the best low THC, high CBD strains on the market, with different strength ranges to bring you total catharsis.

This Indica dominant strain floods you with relaxation but doesn’t create an overly trippy experience. Composed of Afghan Skunk and Cannatonic, this strain is best known for aiding in relieving inflammation, anxiety, and all types of pain.

Auto Purple Kush, cannabis crystals trichomes, marijuana plant medical tool against pain, buds hemp ripe

The Wife

This strain is more of an even hybrid and features a staggering CBD: THC ratio of 20:1. It does happen to be rare, so if you see it on any menu, make sure to stock up. This strain is most effective in treating nausea, chemotherapy side effects, chronic pain, and depression.

Charlotte’s Web

This might be the most famous CBD strain in the world. Its name was on people’s lips before cannabis was trending in the mainstream world. That’s because of this medicine’s ability to reduce the girl’s seizures drastically. It was named after – Charlotte Figi. The THC is so low, this strain has been sold as a food supplement and is safe enough for children. We suggest consuming it in the form of high-end oil.

Dancehall is a force to be reckoned with in the CBD industry, and for a good reason. Sitting more on the Sativa side of the spectrum, this hybrid relaxes you but also provides energy and a feeling of deep, internal happiness. Commonly found in Washington, the Dancehall cartridge by Puffin Farm has won the 2018 Sun Cup for first place in Best CBD Cartridge.

This strain is popular even with those less familiar with CBD. ACDC is a phenotype of our aforementioned Cannatonic with a soaring CBD: THC ratio of 20:1. If you hate getting high and want a natural form of relief, this readily available strain is the lucid but therapeutic experience that you’ve been waiting to get your hands on.

Ringo’s Gift

One of the most potent CBD strains on this list. If you need extremely high CBD levels due to a high level of pain or severe medical condition, this hybrid of ACDC and Harle-Tsu is the smartest purchase you can make. With a 24:1 CBD ratio, this strain, named after CBD activist Lawrence Ringo, treats anything from PTSD and anxiety to GI disorders and arthritis.

This CBD-rich Sativa hybrid is your new best friend if you need to ease anxiety, depression, or pain and mellow out from any high-strung or stressful experiences. MediHaze, aka CBD MediHaze, seems like a must in terms of a mental health check-in.
